Hello! If I’m being honest, this week was a tough one. I had one kid home for three days with a lingering bug and a husband traveling on top of it. I don’t know how you friends do it with a spouse that travels all of the time. Friday, would’ve been my dad’s 70th birthday and it was not the easiest day. I keep going back to “I’m still here” when I’m feeling really down (which by the way, is totally okay to have those down days. I think I may write a post soon about what’s helped me with grieving).
There were still little glimmers throughout the week. On Friday night after going out for pizza/ice cream, Charlie and I saw the most beautiful sunset while playing basketball. Basketball was something my dad and I shared together. He was my basketball coach for 8 years and I have the most wonderful memories of that time. Charlie just so happened to ask me to play with him that night and mentioned that the pink clouds were my dad looking down on us. It was a complete “God Wink.”

This week coming up I’ll be sharing a long overdue Bahamas post. I mentioned I would share it in my last “Sunday Happy” and totally dropped the ball on that. I’ve been wanting to share this trip since last April when we went. Troster and I have been planning our trips out for next year and the Bahamas may be on the list again.

I will also be sharing some fun things from Boden that came in for myself and Lucy. Did you know they are opening up their first US store at Avalon in November?! I’m so excited!

Recipe of the Week
The Girlfriend Snack Wrap
This one was born on a day I skipped lunch and needed a fast, satisfying fix. Layer deli turkey, hummus, cheddar, sauerkraut, and lettuce, wrap it up, and you’re good to go. Two minutes, real food.
This Week’s Menu
Monday: Mac & cheese (I’ve been loving Goodles) with roasted broccoli
Tuesday: Chicken meatballs with roasted spaghetti squash
Wednesday: Leftovers night
Thursday: Tomato soup with focaccia bread
Friday: Pizza night
I’ll also be making these pumpkin muffins to have on hand for breakfast and my favorite chicken salad for lunch.

From the Garden
If you plant one flower next year, let it be Celosia.
I direct seeded mine back in May (Zone 8a), and they’ve been blooming non-stop. Celosia thrives in heat, attracts pollinators, and works beautifully in arrangements. Colors like Spun Sugar, Flamingo Feather, and Rainbow Sherbet have been favorites in my garden. I’ve barely touched them since planting, except for clipping for arrangements.

Sunday Favorites
A few things I’ve been loving this week:
This striped dress that looks like fall, but lightweight enough for the warm days we are still having
These ballet flats which are currently on sale. I couldn’t resist the moss color.
The lotion that I love so much, I take it with me in my gym bag.
Thank you for being here,
Until next Sunday,
Ashleigh
